What is the BAC?

The goal of the Broadway Alumni Connection is to provide performers (former & current) opportunities to perform and mingle.  If life has separated you from the stage but you get the occasional itch, you can come perform in a Broadway Alumni Connection show.  There are no auditions or dues. (You've had enough of those!)  We believe that you have accomplished great things & your talent is with you for life.  You may want to brush up your skills from time to time and come play with your friends in front of the lights.  Or you may want to try out a new work in front of a supportive audience.  See who joined us in 2009 below.

The Broadway Alumni Connection was started when former Broadway dancer, Tamlyn Shusterman got the itch to perform again after a 5 year hiatus from the biz.  However, jumping back into auditions & eight shows a week was no longer a part of her lifestyle.  Her dear friend & Executive Director of the Nuyorican Theater in NYC, Dan Gallant suggested that they partner to produce an evening of song & dance and invite her colleagues to also perform.  The result was a fantastic show bringing together great talent, some returning to the stage to try new cabaret numbers or choreography, others performing solos of their favorite songs. The success of the night turned into an offer to make these show into a series so the public can also celebrate these great talents!

Anyone who has performed in a Broadway show.  You don’t need to be retired to be an alumni.  There may be more Broadway shows in your future but this group is designed to give you opportunities to perform and mingle with your community in the meanwhile.

What’s the vibe of BAC?

We are about having fun supporting one another.  Together we can scratch that itch to get back on stage, chat about the good old days and applaud each others talents.  Good times!
